Believe it or not, it’s not nearly as difficult as I originally thought it would be. At first I was VERY conscious about frequent oiling, especially being stored in a relatively humid basement. I’ve learned, through laziness, that it’s not really a big deal.

My Ithaca 37R has slam fire. Fudds at the range get all Karen-like when I let it rip

Zeke has some nice shotguns. I had a Stevens 311 and I traded it in on a Smith and Wesson Super 1000, a big mistake. I finally got the Super 1000 to run right by replacing both the extractor and ejector with their springs. Thanks to Numrich arms who was able to supply the parts. I have no pictures of either one. I owned them before taking pictures of firearms was a thing and before the internet. I also owned a Fox B model which was good for hunting but not for trap. I'll call that shotgun the Real Punisher.

Here's a 1980's Winchester (USRA) 1400 that is a "meat gun". Nothing fancy all go and no show. I've kilt more pheasant with this shotgun than with all my other shotguns combined. It has a 22" barrel, hold three shells because of the gas system it has no plug and parts are easily obtainable. I've never had to replace any parts but I put one of the heavy duty followers and springs in it. Aluminium receiver that's a bit scratched up from woods hunting but the most reliable hunter I own.

I get looks at the range. They won't let me shoot trap with it, since it's a "tactical shotgun".

I'll bite ...WTF is that ? FWIW ...all my shotguns except the Mossberg have put meat on the table ...Fudd guns or not ...the Express tactical was an Express at one point killed a lot of squirrels, pheasants and ducks with that gun before switching to the Nova . Nova is now a Turkey gun and the M2 and M1 are sporting clays guns.

FWIW ..that Nova is a tank I've got a mercury recoil suppressor in the stock , I've even used it as an oar at one point . Killed a lot of ducks with that gun . Been Atlantic Brant hunting in Chincoteague Virginia in 12 degrees and it ran like a champ . First shot shattered the ice off the barrel.
