Nice. Looks like it ought to be pretty "snappy". Does the porting make much difference?

The porting helps but it's still a 4" magnum . The standard 240 gr are fairly decent snappy but manageable, I shot some Remington 180gr and WoW

fucking flamethrower with a kick.
.44 special shoots like a dream . This is my nightstand gun loaded with critical defense .44 specials , only load the magnums when in critter woods .
