I likes fishing but only in lucrative places. There are lots of those around my camp in Upstate, NY and fishing the inside passage of AK was wonderful.

As a kid I'd go visit my grandfather in florida. He had a dock out back with a lake. He fed the fish all the time. So when I went down to fish, I'd drop a hook in the water and would have a fish in seconds. Catch and release. Would do it all day with corn, bread, whatever was left over from the previous night's dinner.

It wasn't even sport, they'd come up, I'd take them off the hook and toss them back. But it was a good time and good experience, especially for a 5 year old.

Now I want a lake.
